It happens gradually — through conversations, familiar faces, consistent care and taking time to understand the little details that make your baby, your baby.
Before and during those first days, we work with families to learn about routines, sleep, feeding, comfort, interests and the things that help a child feel secure.
And if settling takes a little longer? That's okay too.
There isn't one right way to settle into nursery. We follow the child in front of us.

Through the key-person approach, we get to know the details that matter — how your baby communicates, what makes them smile, how they like to be comforted, their developing interests and when they might need a little extra reassurance.
That relationship also gives parents an important connection with nursery and someone who understands their child's experience particularly well.

Every child responds differently to somewhere new, so settling in is about building familiarity and trust rather than expecting every baby to follow exactly the same journey.
We'll take time to learn about your baby's routines, preferences, feeding, sleep, interests and the things that help them feel comfortable.
Early visits and settling experiences give your baby opportunities to become familiar with the environment, practitioners and nursery routine with support from the people they know best.
As relationships develop, children begin to recognise familiar people and places, giving them greater confidence to explore and become involved in nursery life.
Settling doesn't end after the first few days. We continue listening, observing and responding as your baby's needs, routines and confidence change.

Good To Know
Questions Parents Often Ask
We recommend that you provide a spare change of clothes and spare socks. You can also provide formula, bottles and food if you prefer us to use your own from home.
Please be aware that we have a strict No Nut policy on food.You must provide your own nappies and creams if necessary. We are able to provide wipes but you can also bring your own if preffered.
As relationships develop, children begin to recognise familiar people and places, giving them greater confidence to explore and become involved in nursery life.
We work with families to understand individual sleep needs and familiar routines. We'll add Jigsaw's specific sleep arrangements here.
Some children become comfortable very quickly while others need more time. We'll work with you and respond to your baby's individual needs rather than expecting every child to settle in exactly the same way.
Parents receive communication about their child's nursery day, with Famly helping us share important information and updates. We'll add the exact information provided later.
